A stronghold is a system of thoughts that become decisions that rule and influence a mind. Once a stronghold is built it becomes a place that the devil attacks your creative intelligence, understanding and the ability to receive and steward revelation to create.
Many artists are bound in creative strongholds that is built from thoughts and imaginations that causes an artist to stop, quit and never pursue their creative gifts.
Please read part 1 of a story I wrote about this subject. More stories will follow.
Jerry really wanted to become an artist. He loved attending art galleries and art shows. It was something about being in the presence of art that brought something to life in him.
He remembered when he was a child. He was actually nine years old and his elementary school teacher introduced art to the class. The first time Jerry held a paintbrush he was caught. He knew that his first attempt at art wasn’t that good but the praise from his teacher endeared his heart and gave him a passion for art.
For the rest of his life Jerry created abstract art and became an excellent artist. Until that fateful day that caused his dreams to die.
Jerry had several pieces in an citywide show and he received a lot of positive feedback. He even sold several pieces. The local paper reviewed the show. Jerry bought several papers because he was excited about the review.
Jerry was horrified as he read these words in the paper. “One of our local artist Jerry Parker prides himself on becoming a renown artist of abstract art. It is my opinion that Jerry keep his job and stop wasting his time in the arts. His presentations was crude, fragmented and without cohesiveness.”
Jerry was crushed. This one review built a stronghold in his mind. He believed the reviewer. He stopped painting.
