2014 has been a year of great opportunities and devastating setbacks. Most of us who live by the Gregorian calendar have reached the end of the year. Christmas is gone and we anticipate the New Year Day, January 1, 2015.
During this week between Christmas and New Years Day I have rested, reflected and remembered the current year as I look to the New Year. Today I wanted to give you an approach to 2015 that will cause you to advance in 2015.
Have you made your New Year Resolutions? It seems that this idea is getting a bad rap in our current times. People seem to think that there is something wrong with making resolutions for the New Year. I’ve read reports that most people give up on New Year Resolutions by the end of January. The question that I have is, is the problem with New Year resolutions or with the people who don’t have the resolve to see them through?
New Year Resolutions are good. It’s good to have a resolve to do something or accomplish something. To hang with it until it is done. But I would like offer you something else that is very similar to making a New Year solution. The end is the same but the path is going to be very different on how to get there.
How about making Creative solutions instead of making a New Year resolution. What is a Creative Solution? A Creative Solution is creating answers to the problems that you had this year and will carry into next year. This is how you compose Creative Solutions:
1. Identify the problems that you had this year that you don’t want to have next year. It maybe a weight problem, poor finances, relationship conflict or a lack of focus to finish important things.
2. Identify the answers to your problems. Create solutions that will turn your problems into successes. Be creative with the answers.
3. Form a written plan on how you are going to deal with your problems and what will success look like.
Once your plan is written everyday read it, pray over it, meditate on it and do ONE THING every day that’s a solution. And if you miss a day. that’s okay. If you miss a week that’s okay. You are building a new life with creative solutions.
See the end.Put a white board up in your office and write about the one thing.
Happy New Year. Success to your Creative Solutions.
