I had a dream about social media and the influence that it has over the children of God. In the dream I was in a club, a place of entertainment. Everyone in the club was a believer of Jesus Christ. The setting was a convention and I knew the people who were gathered there.
On the floor was a group surrounding a pastor. I walked over to the group with my eye on the pastor. He was looking at his iPhone, it was opened to Facebook. He was about to read a post to the group. A strong spirit of warning came over me and I warned him not to read what he was about to read. As a watchman I discerned that the post was damaging and he shouldn’t read it but he started to read it anyway.
As the pastor read the post to the group a look of horror came over his face. He realized that he knew the woman that he was reading about and that her brother was seated just a few feet away from him.
The pastor looked at the man and said I didn’t know. Then he said I’m going to get him, referring to the creator of the post. It was a damning post complete with the woman’s picture and it revealed a terrible secret in her life.
The women’s brother started to cry. The entire club was silent. They were all embarrassed as they watched the man cry over the humiliation of his sister. The pastor who read the article asked the congregation to pray for the man who was weeping profusely. What a hypocrite the pastor was. He was th eone who brought the post into the club and now he wants to pray for the man who has been hurt the most.
The woman’s brother stood up and started to curse the writer of the post. He wanted revenge.
Some other men in the club advised the woman’s brother to remember who he was and who his parents were. They were finally able to convince the man to not seek revenge, the woman’s brother left the club. The thing that stood out to me about this church crowd was there was no conviction of sin, there was the only embarrassment because the person who was exposed in the post had a relative in the gathering. I believe that if the man had not been present the Facebook post would have read and enjoyed by those who listened to the pastor read it.
I was troubled because in this crowd there was no conviction of sin, there were embarrassed the person who was the object of the Facebook post had a relative in the gathering. They were exposed. If the woman’s brother had not been present the post would have been enjoyed by those who listened to the pastor read it.
In another part of a dream I was walking with the woman’s brother speaking to him about his hurt and counseling him how to respond. Then I woke up and I heard the Lord say, SOCIAL MEDIA IS REVEALING THE FOOLISHNESS IN MY PEOPLE’S HEART.
Holy Spirit led me to Proverbs 22:13 “Foolishness is bound up in the heart of a child, but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him.”
Holy Spirit began to show me that this word reveals the condition of many of God’s children in this time. Foolishness is a condition of the heart that is leading the children of God down a path that ignores wisdom. It is the evidence of being carnal. Because so many of the children of God are carnal they read and believe and share a lot of injurious post on Facebook finding enjoyment in others pain.
Foolishness loves gossip and slander. It creates agreement with the things that appeal to the fleshly nature and it speak not considering the consequences of their actions. This is the foolishness of God’s children.
The Lord says that with His rod of correction he will drive this foolishness from the heart of His children. Read Isiah 10:16 for one of the ways that He corrects. The correction that many on social media is now facing is the Lord driving foolishness from the heart of His children.
And the Lord says, I WILL USE SOCIAL MEDIA AS A ROD OF CORRECTION BECAUSE SOCIAL MEDIA HAS REVEALED THE FOOLISHNESS IN MY CHILDREN’S HEART .
