“And Elijah the Tishbite, of the inhabitants of Gilead, said to Ahab, “As the Lord God of Israel lives, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew or rain these years, except at my word.” (1 Kings 17:1).
The nation of Israel entered a season of drought for three years because of the sin of its leaders. There is a principle in this occurrence that opens our eyes to understand and see the beginning and ending of a season. The principle is God announces a season by a Word. Elijah, the prophet announced the beginning of a season by the word that he gave.
I have seen this principle demonstrated in my life several times since God gave me this revelation of seasons and times in 2011. I was returning home from Nigeria after conducting a preaching and teaching tour there for eight days. On the plane I heard the Lord said, “You have entered a new season.” That word came to me in a still small voice in my spirit but I knew it was the Lord.
That season was a season of great warfare, personal pain, betrayal and everything that the devil could throw at me. I stood in the midst of it and after eight months I received a directional word of destiny from an Apostle and that season ended.
I have seen a season end this week with the same principle. In March the church that I serve as pastor held a Breakthrough Revival and on the first night of the revival our guest Apostle Oliver T. Reid of O.T.R. Ministries preached on Isaiah 10:27 “I’M PHAT” It was a word that announced the season of breakthrough that I had entered and the cost of contending for the breakthrough.
For six months I have contended and pressed in for breakthrough and this past Sunday there was a speaker at our church, Lady Brandy King; the wife of Pastor Jonathan King. She spoke from Psalms 92:12-13 “I’M PHAT” As soon as she announced the title of her message I heard Holy Spirit say in my spirit that this season was over. That my breakthrough was complete.
Holy Spirit also caused me to meditate on a word that Apostle Theresa Johnson had released that morning “Freedom Next Exit.”
After the three years were over God told Elijah, “Go, present yourself to Ahab and I will send rain on the earth.” (1 Kings 18:1).
God ended the season of drought in Israel by giving a word to Elijah.
The proof of my new season came the very next day. I received three books I had ordered last week from Glory of Zion Bookstore. Releasing Prophetic Destiny of a Nation; The Messianic Church Arising; A Time to Advance.
I encourage you to watch for the word that announces seasons and for words that end seasons.
