All week I have been watching and listening to tributes to Prophet Bob Jones. Rick Joyner shared many of his experiences with Prophet Bob over the thirty years that they had known each other. I listened to Prophet Shawn Bolz share the impact that Prophet Jones had in his life. Prophet Kris Vallotin gave his tribute at Bethel on this past Sunday. And Prophet Paul Keith Davis devoted an entire webinar to his friendship with Prophet Bob Jones.
And the tributes continued today at the Heritage International Ministries which houses among other things the Morning Star Church. The atrium where the people of God gather for worship was the place where the family of Prophet Jones and the friends gathered today to mourn and celebrate the incredibly supernatural life of Prophet Bob Jones.
I watched the services on Morning Star TV. I wanted to be there in Fort Mills S.C. so I’m thankful I could be among the many people who were there by watching. Of all the tributes given I was touched by each as one by one men of God came forward to share the tremendous way that Prophet Bob Jones touched there lives. But I don’t think I’ll ever forget the words of Prophet Bobby Connor who said he awaken the morning that the Prophet took his final trip to heaven never to return to this realm of time and he heard the cry of Elisha, “Father, father.” Elisha cried those words as he watched his father Elijah ascend to heaven never to see him again. Prophet Bob Jones a father in the earth, a prophet of unusual abilities had gone home. Prophet Connor’s word defined what I have been feeling this week since I heard of Bob Jones death. I have felt the absence of a father in the earth. This is what the earth must have felt like when Noah, Abraham and Moses died. When a father leaves it means that there is an ending in the earth.
Rick Joyner said that we will go on, we must go on, but for a season we will feel and grieve the ending that has come upon us. We will mourn the things we loved about Prophet Jones and we will mourn that he is no more in the earth though we have our memories. We will mourn the separation that his departure, though well deserved, will have on us. And we will miss the love that he lived in our midst as a demonstration of a divine heavenly love birthed in the heart of a God who is love.
Thank you Father for giving us a father known simply as Bob Jones.
