Lev 23:34 “Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, The fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the feast of tabernacles for seven days unto the Lord.”
I was writing the other night about the birth of Watchman On Walls International Fellowship and Holy Spirit revealed to me that the first conference call for this ministry was held during the Feast of Tabernacles. The date was Monday October 1, 2012 and the feast started on the preceding sunday at sundown. I was awed by this discovery as I searched out this truth Holy Spirit began to speak to me the purpose of Father for WOW. Holy Spirit showed me how He led me to birth WOW during this special time because it was Adonai’s (Lord) desire to tabernacle among this creative community.
During the feast of tabernacles, the hebrew word for tabernacle is sukkah, the people of Israel made booths and for seven days they would live in these booths as they remembered their journey from egypt to Canaan. I was led to look at the hebrew word for booth or tabernacle, sukkah. When I viewed the hebrew words the first letter, please understand that each hebrew letter in the aleph-bet (hebrew alphabet) is a picture that speaks prophetically, The first letter in tabernacle is samekh, it looks like a shield of battle. One of the meanings of samekh is to support. Holy Spirit revealed to me that WOW was called to be a fellowship, a community of creative poets, scribes and worshippers that shares their journey to encourage and strengthen each other. And that the chief function of our fellowship is to be a shield for one another to stand as protection against our enemies. This function is intercession for through our intercession we build a wall around the fellowship that the enemy can’t penetrate.
The second letter in sukkah is kaf. Kaf looks like a hand. Holy Spirit said to me that Adonai’s hand is on WOW. I was led to Psalms 139:5, “Thou hast laid thine hand upon me.” The hand of Adonai is His power coming forth through our potential and His possessions that He distributes to us as we secures our portion. Many of these possessions are the creative gifts that He has deposited in us to bring forth in the earth.
The third letter in sukkah is hey which means breath. When God breathes upon a thing He stirs the creative in it. Holy Spirit showed me that the breath of God lives in WOW through prophetic release and it stirs the creativity that is in each one of us.
I was humbled by this prophetic revelation that God’s desire for WOW is to establish a community that He would tabernacle with. that He would live in our midst.
And then Holy Spirit led me to consider our name. Watchman On Walls. A watchman is one who is set on the wall to view the horizons. He stands watch over his sphere, his community, his family, his appointed boundaries. He looks for something be it positive or negative and whatever he sees he tells others. God is forming WOW to be an apostolic and prophetic community. Like the prophet Habakkuk we stand to see what God is going to say and when He speaks we are sent (apostolic) to tell (prophetic) what we have seen and heard.
God is our tabernacle and we are His watchmen. I am excited about what God is doing in this fellowship and the future that He has for us.
If you live in the Huntersville NC area please meet WOW at the Huntersville Arts and Cultural Center in Huntersville NC on Saturday September 28, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. for a time of fellowship. God will be in the midst. Shalom.
